TEXT: JUDGES 13:1-25
MEMORY VERSE: “Then Manoah entreated the lord, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.”Judges13:8 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
There is nothing as strong and beautiful as unity, especially in marriage. Unity clears all confusion and moves all obstacle and mountains; it makes what seems to be impossible become possible.
In the passage today, we see a story of a couple who cooperated with the Lord to bring forth a special child who was to begin the deliverance of Israel. We see how the woman submitted her vision to her husband in humility, knowing that he was the head of the family. The husband received her with much respect, asking keen question; and when it looked like there was not enough clarity, they sought the face of the Lord that this man will come again.
Because this prayer was made in unity, the answer did not delay at all. And when the Lord sent again His messenger, the husband asked question the woman did not ask the first time. They both worked together to see that the word of the Lord through His servant was fulfilled. Unity is so important in any organization, especially that of marriage because without unity a marriage apparently has no future. The Bible says you must be in unity so your prayers will not be hindered (paraphrased). Are you living in disunity with your spouse? Take the responsibility to build a peaceful marriage.
You may be married, yet, your unity with the LORD should be your pre-occupation; abide in me and I in you: this way you can bring forth much fruits.
- Ask God for grace today and take bold steps for reunion with your spouse if you are not united
- Ask the Lord for more intimacy with Him.
