ESOCS Devotional 15 June
TEXT: JOHN 12:16-38
MEMORY VERSE: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24 KJV
Life is a seed that must be sown. From our anchor scripture, Jesus Christ explains that life is a seed that must be sown for the benefit of people. This benefit affects both humanity and divinity. The aim of a seed is to feed. You are a seed that is supposed to be sown for the feeding of many. It is important we note that the number of human beings who draw value from it defines the real worth of any life. The quality of any life is determined by how much tears have been replaced by the smiles on the faces of people. We truly need to ask ourselves questions such as, how many lives have been upgraded and enhanced in value because I exist? How many people would have been dead if they had not encountered me? How many people are what they are because of my efforts or existence? ESOCS Devotional 15 June

Life indeed is a seed that is designed for the feeding of a generation. The time will come when people may forget the size of the house we lived in or the type or class of car we drove. But there is something that they can never forget, the number of lives we touched and the number of souls we impacted in any way, positively. How many souls are alive because we are alive? How many people crossed from darkness into light because of us? Beloved, this is a matter of great importance and concern, as we are also a seed for divinity. What joy is our maker getting from our lives? What are your inputs towards kingdom service and expansion? Are you a gain, a minus, or a pain to the kingdom of God? Are you adding value or devaluing the kingdom? This has become imperative due to the setback in Church growth, for development, evangelism, soul winning, administration and expansion have suffered greatly, resulting from the seed sown by certain Christian elements in our generation.
Let it be clear that a life that is not lived as a seed is a life that is lived as a waste. Until we live beyond ourselves, we cannot live beyond our time. Let us pray and trust that we shall be profitable for God’s kingdom.
BOTTOM LINE: The number of human beings who draw value from it defines the real worth of any life.
