TEXT: REVELATION 7:9-17
MEMORY VERSE: “And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:14 KJV).
The white robes are our target; to wear them in the presence of our Lord for eternity, and dine with Him in the banquet hall. Since this is our goal, we would do well to think deep on how we spend our time in this age. All around us are people and things that may cause us to derail and miss the target. Therefore, we have to be consistent in following the Lord.
The world would soon come to an end. The Soon Coming King would arrive at no time no one expects. If we are ready like the wise virgin, He will meet us clean, pure, holy, and righteous as He is; and He would rapture us. He would give us our mansions in His Kingdom.
The triumphant saints who “washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” were able win the race because they counted the world and all that it offered them as nothing, rubbish, meaningless, baseless, and vanity.
Paul understood these things and acted wisely. He said, “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish … that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead” (Phil. 3:7-11 ESV). Let us think like Paul and act wisely too.
- Meditate on the gains of spending eternity with Christ.
- Lord, I commit my soul to you for safekeeping.
