TEXT: ACTS 20:17-38
MEMORY VERSE: “Serving the Lord with all humility of mine, and with many fears and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews.” Acts 20:19 KJV
“Members want to know how much you care before care how much you know”. Therefore, who you are comes before what you do. Leadership is being before doing.
Paul while speaking to Ephesians described the ingredients of the heart of an effective leader:
- Consistent: he lived steadily while moving among them (v.18)
- Contrite: he acted humbly and willingly showed his weakness (v.19)
- Courageous: he did not shrink for doing the right thing (v19
- Convictional: he communicated his convictions boldly (v.21)
- Committed: he left for Jerusalem willing to die for Jesus(v. 22-23)
- Captivated: he showed that a surrendered man does not have to survive (v.24)
CHALLENGES
- Do you have the heart of a leader or a ruler?
PRAYER POINT: Pray God to give you the heart to lead His flock aright.
