TEXT: REVELATION 21:9-14
MEMORY VERSE: “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife … Her light was likea most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.” Revelation 21:9-11 NKJV
The Lamb’s wife, which we are! Does that sound strange to you, or new. Definitely, it shouldn’t. We are but His bride, His Church. Our light should shine among people with the brilliance that comes from the purity of our Husband, the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us (Gal. 2:20). We should be like Him, and radiate His holiness, righteousness, purity, love, and power everywhere. Our hearts should emit the light of God and shine towards others like the sun in the high sky; and fill everywhere glittering like the stars of heaven. We should stand like the golden pillars at the gates of heaven, ushering souls into the kingdom of our God. In our mouth should be found always, the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and of the kingdom of God. Our presence everywhere should foster love and peace, as it was with our Lord while He was here on earth, and even now onto eternity. We should possess such a blessed identity that is inviting, and onto which people would love, not only to come but towards which they would want to run. Actually, we should be the blessedness of God on earth, just as our Lord was while he was here, still is even now, and would be forever.

When Nathaniel said to Philip, “Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see” (John 1:46 KJV). When he came, he saw our Lord who is goodness and love personified. When people meet with you, who do they see? When they interact with you, what do they find? When they have dealings with you, what do they experience? When they relate with you in any way, what story do they often tell afterwards? When they come to see you, do they go away joyful or sorrowful? These questions should be on your mind always. They would help to shape your life, attitude, dispositions, and personality if you are diligent to be conscious of them, and many more. They would lead you to living a life of integrity, and having a deep sense of godliness with heavenly acclaim and witness.
The Angel said to John the divine, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” When he saw the Lamb’s wife, His bride, the testimony was that “Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.” Her light! What testimony does heaven have concerning you? The thing you have inside you, is it light or darkness? What is heaven’s record about your thoughts, words, actions, reactions, attitude towards God, His word, His work, people, your general dispositions, and way of life? Can heaven rejoice at your lifestyle? Like the Patriarchs, Matriarchs, and triumphant saints of our Christian race, could the record in heaven be that God is not ashamed to be called your God? (Heb. 11:16). Are you a reason for which God’s name, His word, and His Church are blasphemed, or gloried? Can God send someone to you for succour or help?
There is a goal we must pursue: to be like the Lord Jesus Christ. In 1 John 3:2, the Bible says, “… now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” How would we be able to accomplish this? Apostle Paul told us to lose everything in the world and forsake them “that [we] may gain Christ, and be found in him” (Phil. 3:8-9 ASV). In doing this, we should purify ourselves and be pure, “just as he is pure” (1 John 3:3 NIV). That’s all we need to do.
CHALLENGES
Think about your life and what you make of it, whether it aligns with what God wants it to be.
PRAYER POINT
Lord, I want to be true to you, that I might reflect your purity in my life.
