Immediate past Deputy Governor of Rivers State and Chieftain of the PDP, Engr. Tele Ikuru has hailed Gov. Wike as an ebullient fighter. This is for the proactive measures by the governor against the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The Engr. made this known in a statement released today. He said, Gov. Wike has placed himself as a sacrificial lamb, not caring about his own health all in a bid to curb the spread of the pandemic. This is to primarily ensure the safety of Rivers people, Ikuru noted.
Ikuru said, despite the inability of the Federal Government to proffer solutions to the pandemic, Gov.Wike has risen to the challenge by taken the necessary measures to curb the spread of the virus.
Engr. Ikuru blasted those criticising the actions of the governor. He said Wike wouldn’t have been so callous in demolishing the hotels if they hadn’t flouted the directives. Ikuru noted that while some persons are criticizing Wike’s actions, the Eleme people are happy with the governor for pulling down the structure alleged to be used in carrying out criminal activities.
He urged the people to investigate the issues on ground to get real facts rather than spread false news on social media platforms.
