Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has filed a lawsuit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over the alleged unauthorized release of his voter registration details.
Court documents indicate that the suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1272/2026, was lodged before the Federal High Court in Abuja on June 15, 2026.
The case stems from the publication of information relating to Ike’s voter registration transfer from Imo State to the Federal Capital Territory, which Olayinka reportedly shared on his verified X account in May.
Through his lawyer, Leonard Adeh, Ike contended that the disclosure of his personal voter registration information without his consent constituted a violation of his constitutional right to privacy and protections guaranteed under data protection laws
