The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says it has moved detained former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano to Abuja.
Spokesperson of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, made this in a chat with journalists, today.
“The ex-governor was arrested in Lagos, but was moved to Abuja this morning,” he said.
Recall that a media platform Newtelegraph.com had reported that Obiano was this morning released by the commission.
However, the statement by Mr Wilson clearly showed that he is still being held by the commission.
The former governor, was yesterday, arrested at the Murtala Muhammed airport at about 8:30pm yesterday.
It was gathered that Obiano had been on the watchlist of the commission, and was on his way to Houston Texas in the United States.
This was shortly after handing over power to former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
