The immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. This is according to Newtelegraph.com
Obiano, was arrested by the EFCC at the Murtala Muhammed airport at about 8:30pm yesterday.
It was gathered that the former governor who had been on the watchlist of the commission, was on his way to the United States.
This was shortly after handing over power to former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
It is still not clear why the former governor was arrested, and also not yet clear if he would be allowed to leave the country following his release.
