The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, has arrested 92 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo State.
The suspects were apprehended during a sting operation carried out on Monday, September 29, 2025, at different locations across Benin City.
According to the EFCC, the arrests followed credible intelligence linking the individuals to computer-related crimes. The operation, the Commission noted, was conducted in line with lawful procedures.
Items recovered from the suspects include 11 vehicles and several mobile devices.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in various forms of internet fraud. The Commission said they would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
