The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, has resigned from office amid reported plans by lawmakers to impeach him.
His resignation was confirmed on Monday, August 17, 2026, by his media aide, Ivy Ebojele.
Ebojele said further details regarding the Speaker’s resignation would be made public.
“Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Agbebaku resigns,” she announced.
