The Department of State Security, DSS says it cannot confirm the arrest of suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

There were reports that the secret Police arrested Emefiele shortly after the announcement of his suspension on Friday.

However, when asked by Leadership to confirm Emefiele’s arrest DSS spokesperson, Dr Peter Afunanya said, “Inundated. I may not be able to make any confirmations NOW, please

The Agency had in February 2023, accused Godwin Emefiele of terrorists financing.
