The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Chief Hon. Obinna Anyanwu, Ph.D, has presented to the Legislative Assembly, the 2023 budget estimates of Four Billion, One Hundred and Nine Million, Four Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, One Hundred and Twenty Eight Naira and Eighteen Kobo (4,109,413,128.18) for consideration and approval.
In the estimated budget, capital expenditure took one billion, four hundred and two million, eight hundred and two thousand, forty seven naira (1,402,802,047.00).
Recurrent expenditure cost took two billion, nine hundred and ninety-nine million, nine hundred and nine thousand, nine hundred and seventy-five naira and seventy two kobo (2,599,909,975.72), while reverse funds is forty one million, ninety four thousand, one hundred and thirty one naira, and twenty eight kobo (41,094,131.28).
Presenting the budget proposal, Dr. Anyanwu disclosed that the N4.1bn proposed for 2023 is aimed towards enhancing the development of Etche and improving the welfare of the people.
He said: “Our focus for this budget is to further enhance development in all 19 wards of the Local Government Area. We believe that this proposal will go a long way in addressing the pressing needs of our people”.
The Council Chairman prayed for speedy passage of the budget by the house.
In her remarks, Leader of Etche Legislative Assembly, Rt Hon. Cynthia Nwala, assured that the budget would be speedily and properly scrutinized towards ensuring good governance in the local government.
