The Rivers State Government says it is not to blame for the appearance of soot in the state and its environs.
Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo said this during a meeting at Government House on Saturday.
He said the burning of illegal refineries and petroleum products by the military is the major cause of soot in the state and its environs. He also blamed oil workers for the menace.
Danagogo also said the state government is working to put an end to the soot which is dangerous to the health of Rivers people.
