DCLM Daily Manna 2025: DCLM Daily Manna 27 November 2025: It’s All Grace
Text: Ephesians 1:7–10 (KJV)
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
KEY VERSE: Ephesians 1:7
“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
One of the most beloved Christian hymns ever written is Amazing Grace. Composed in 1772 by John Newton, the hymn captures the overwhelming joy, peace, and relief of a soul lifted from deep despair to salvation—purely by grace.
The lyrics reflect Newton’s own incredible testimony. Though spared repeatedly from danger, sickness, abuse, and even death, he continually fell back into deep moral struggles.
Newton, once a blasphemer, slave trader, and hardened sinner, eventually encountered the grace of God that transformed him completely. His tombstone says it all:
“John Newton, clerk, once an infidel and libertine, a servant of slaves in Africa, was by the rich mercy of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, preserved, restored, pardoned, and appointed to preach the faith he had long labored to destroy.”
This is the power of divine grace.
In today’s passage, Apostle Paul exalts this same grace—lavish, rich, and abundant—poured out on the believer. It is through grace that we receive redemption, forgiveness, and the revelation of God’s eternal plan.
Humanity, ruined by sin, possesses nothing worthy enough to earn salvation. No level of morality, effort, or religious duty can merit it. It is all of grace!
We are saved simply by accepting God’s offer through faith.
The Christian journey begins by grace, is sustained by grace, and will be completed by grace. Yet, grace does not give us permission to live carelessly.
Instead, it empowers us to live righteously as we depend on God daily. As John Newton declared, the same grace that has brought us this far will surely lead us home.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If you deserved it, it is no more grace.
