Afrobeats star Davido has been inducted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, the body responsible for the Grammy Awards. The move positions the Nigerian artist to take part in the nomination and final ballot processes for the 2026 Grammys.
The singer described his new role as a “game-changer,” noting that it allows him to help shape what is considered and voted on each award season.
Davido’s membership comes as the Recording Academy intensifies efforts to broaden and diversify its ranks, a strategy aimed at reflecting the growing global impact of African artists on the music industry.
