Daily Devo 21 July
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person….— 1 Corinthians 13:7 (AMPC)
From the book Wake Up to the Word – by Joyce Meyer
Believing the best of people is extremely helpful in the process of forgiving those who’ve hurt or offended us. As human beings, we tend to be suspicious of others, and we often get hurt because of our own imagination. Sometimes we believe someone hurt us on purpose, when the truth is they weren’t even aware they hurt us at all.
There are still times when people hurt my feelings, but then I remember that I can choose whether to stay hurt or to ask God to heal me and believe that their intentions weren’t to hurt me. I can go through my day believing the best or believing the worst, so why not believe the best and enjoy the day?

I encourage you to be a person who believes the best about others. When you do, it will help keep offense and bitterness out of your life, and help you stay more peaceful and joyful.
Prayer Starter: Father, please help me to believe the best of people. Even when they hurt me, give me the strength to forgive, to not assume the worst, and to let go of what I need to drop. Thank You for Your forgiveness and grace! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
