Five-time ballon d’or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Juventus has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus.
The Portuguese Football Federation disclosed this in a statement today.
The Superstar was expected to play for Portugal in the UEFA Nations league against Sweden on Wednesday but will now miss the clash due to the ailment.
The statement said he is currently not showing any symptoms but is self-isolating. He will need to spend over two weeks in isolation until he tests negative for the virus.
Ronaldo whose teammates tested negative, is also expected to miss some games for his club side Juventus in the coming weeks.
