Rivers State recorded 40 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,953 with 5,367 discharged and 87 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1005 new Cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 204, Kwara-155, Oyo-124, Plateau-80, FCT-75, Edo-56, Osun-48, Ondo-41, Kaduna-40, Rivers-40, Taraba-35, Borno-32, Ekiti-21, Ogun-20, Kano-14, Bayelsa-8, Delta-7, Bauchi-3 and Jigawa-2
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 144,521 with 118,866 recovered patients, and 1,734 deaths.
The commission has advised Nigerians to Remember to wash their hands at these critical times:
Before and after eating or preparing a meal.
Before wearing a face mask.
After using sanitary facilities.
After sneezing and coughing and upon arrival at work or back home
