Rivers State recorded 5 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,006 with, 2859 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 343 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – (123) Lagos (106) Kaduna (72) Nasarawa (14) Rivers(5), Bauchi (4), Imo (4), Ogun (4), Ekiti (3) Edo (2), Oyo (2), Plateau (2) Akwa Ibom (1) and Kano (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 68,303 with 64,291 and 1,179 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
