The World Health Organization (WHO), has warned that the C0VID-19 pandemic would be far more deadly in its second year.
Director-general of the Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said this during a press conference on Friday, May 14, 2021.
Tedros who stated that about 3.3 million persons have lost their lives to the virus, also warned that trickle-down vaccination is not an effective strategy for fighting the virus.
He stated that vaccine supply remains a key challenge, as he appealed for vaccine donation to covax.
“Vaccine supply remains a key challenge, but this week I’ve been pleased to see leaders & manufacturers working to: share doses with COVAX, make new deals involving tech-transfer and sharing of know-how and call for lifting trade barriers as soon as possible,” he said.
