Rivers State recorded 9 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,866 with 2,709 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 59 new cases of the virus. Kaduna State recorded the highest number of cases with – (28), Rivers (9), Ogun (8), Ondo (8), Kano (2), Niger (2), Kwara (1), and Plateau (1)
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 63790 with 59,844 and 1,154 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
