Rivers State recorded 8 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3124 with, 2902 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 617 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (225), FCT (181), Kaduna (125), Adamawa (25), Nasarawa (20), Kano (12), Rivers ( 8 ), Edo (4), Ekiti (4), Bayelsa (3), Ogun (3), Plateau (3), Akwa Ibom (2), Delta (1), and Sokoto (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 72,757 with 65,850 and 1,194 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
