Rivers State recorded eight new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,263 with 2,157 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 176 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (73), Plateau (50), FCT (17), Rivers ( 8 ), Ondo (6), Niger (5), Ogun (5), Edo (3), Kaduna (3), Oyo (2), Bauchi (1), Bayelsa (1), Delta (1), Nasarawa (1)
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 57,613 with 48,836 and 1,100 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
