Rivers State has recorded six new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,134 with 1960 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Other states in the country also experienced new cases. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – (69), FCT (41), Lagos (21), Delta (14), Kaduna (14), Bayelsa (13), Enugu (13), Ekiti (11), Bauchi (9), Ogun ( 8 ), Edo (7), Oyo (7), Adamawa (4), Osun (4), Nasarawa (3), Ebonyi (2), Kwara (2), Gombe (1), and Imo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 53,727 with 41,314 discharged and 1011 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
