Rivers State has recorded 49 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,284 with 836 discharged and 44 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 460 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with- 150; Rivers-49; Oyo-43; Delta-38; FCT-26; Anambra-20; Kano-20; Plateau-18; Edo-14; Bayelsa-13; Enugu-13; Osun-12; Kwara-10; Borno-8; Ogun-7; Kaduna-6; Imo-4; Bauchi-3; Gombe-3; Niger-2; and Adamawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 30,249 with 12,373 discharged and 684 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
