Rivers State has recorded 43 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1,782 with 1,423 discharged and 52 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 481 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – 96; Lagos-89; Plateau-68; Ogun-49; Edo-44; Rivers-43; Oyo-25; Osun-23; Delta-15; Enugu-11; Kano-7; Kaduna-7; Bauchi-2; Bayelsa-1; and Yobe-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 42,689 with 19,270 discharged and 878 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
