Rivers State recorded three new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,175 with 2,040 discharged and 57 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
A total of 162 new cases of the virus were recorded across the country. Lagos witnessed the highest number of cases with – (53), Gombe (21), Oyo (19), Delta (12), Ondo (11), Plateau (10), Ebonyi (9), FCT (6), Kwara (6), Kaduna (5), Ogun (2), Anambra (2), Imo (2), and Ekiti (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 54,905 with 42,922 and 1,054 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
