Rivers State recorded twenty five new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,395 with 2,241 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 187 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (74), Plateau (25), Rivers (25), Gombe (19), FCT (19), Osun (10), Kaduna (5), Borno (3), Ogun (2), Katsina (2), Nasarawa (1), Bayelsa (1), and Edo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 58,647 with 49,937 and 1,111 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
