Rivers State recorded twenty-two new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,475 with 2,300 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 126 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (62), Rivers (22), Ogun (9), Plateau (7), FCT (7), Osun (5), Kwara (5), Taraba (3), Bayelsa (2), Abia (2), Zamfara (1), and Imo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59,127 with 50,593 and 1,112 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
