Rivers State recorded 21 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,453 with 2,273 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 153 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (81), Rivers (21), FCT (11), Ogun ( 8 ), Kaduna (7), Oyo (6), Akwa Ibom (5), Osun (3), Katsina (3), Edo (2), Ebonyi (2), Nasarawa (2), Plateau (1), and Kano (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59001 with 50,452 and 1,112 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
