Rivers State has recorded two new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,207 with 2,116 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded a total of 79 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (30), Kaduna (17), Ogun (7), Anambra (5), Kano (4), Katsina (3), FCT (3), Akwa Ibom (3), Oyo (2), Delta (1), Plateau (1), Ondo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 56,256 with 44,152 and 1,082 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
