Rivers State recorded two new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,193 with 2,075 discharged and 58 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Other states in Nigeria also witnessed new cases of the virus. Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with – (183), Lagos (33), FCT (25), Ogun (16), Oyo (7), Ekiti (6), Kwara (5), Ondo (5), Imo (3), Anambra (3), Nasarawa (3), Gombe (2), Edo (2), and Akwa Ibom (1)
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 55,456 with 43,334 and 1,067 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
