Rivers State recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3028 with, 2866 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 310 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – (128), Lagos (86), Kaduna (26), Katsina (20), Rivers (19), Oyo (7), Benue (5), Edo (5), Jigawa (5), Ogun (5), Bayelsa (2), and Kano (2).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 68,937 with 64,650 and 1,180 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
