Rivers State recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3045 with, 2870 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 318 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (104), Kaduna (59), FCT (50), Rivers (17), Ogun (16), Kano (14), Nasarawa (14), Akwa Ibom (10), Katsina (10), Edo (7), Oyo (5), Sokoto (5), Plateau (4), and Taraba (3).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 69,255 with 64,774 and 1,180 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
