Rivers State recorded ten new case of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,820 with 2,671 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 162 new cases of the virus. Gombe State recorded the highest number of cases with – (54), FCT (35), Lagos (26), Ogun (12), Plateau (10), Rivers (10), Kaduna (4), Ekiti (3), Edo (2), Osun (2), Bayelsa (1), Imo (1), Ondo (1), and Oyo (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 62853 with 58,675 and 1,144 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
