Rivers State has recorded 9 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 403 with 179 discharged and 22 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
The Centre also announced 409 new cases of the COVID19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 201; FCT- 85; Delta- 22; Edo- 16; Nasarawa- 14; Borno- 14; Kaduna- 14; Bauchi-10; Rivers-9; Enugu- 5; Kano- 5; Ogun- 4; Ondo- 4; Bayelsa- 2; Kebbi- 2; and Plateau- 2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 13,873 with 4,351 discharged and 382 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
