Rivers State has recorded 8 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 874 with 391 discharged and 31 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded 436 new cases of the virus. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with-169; Oyo-52; Plateau-31; Imo-29; Kaduna-28; Ogun-23; FCT-18; Enugu-18; Bauchi-17; Bayelsa-14; Rivers-8; Osun-6; Kano-6; Edo-5; Benue-5; Adamawa-3; Borno-2; Abia-1; and Ekiti-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 20,224 with 6,879 discharged and 518 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus
