Rivers State has recorded 51 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 454 with 188 discharged and 22 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
The Centre also announced 681 new cases of the COVID19, being the highest daily figure recorded in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 345; Rivers-51; Ogun-48; Gombe-47; Oyo-36; Imo-31; Delta-28; Kano-23; Bauchi-18; Edo-12; Katsina-12; Kaduna-9; Anambra-7; Jigawa-5; Kebbi-4; Ondo-4; and Nasarawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 14,554 with 4,494 discharged and 387deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
