Rivers State has recorded 33 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 239 with 68 discharged and 14 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday, Monday.
The centre announced 416 new cases of the COVID-19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 192; Edo-41; Rivers-33; Kaduna-30; Kwara-23; Nasarawa-18; Borno-17; FCT-14; Oyo-10; Katsina-7; Abia-5; Delta-5: Adamawa-4; Kano-4; Imo-3; Ondo-3; Benue-2; Bauchi-2; Ogun-2; and Niger-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 10578 with 3122 discharged and 299 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
