Rivers State has recorded 28 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 482 with 196 discharged and 22 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
The Centre also announced 627 new cases of virus in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 229; FCT-65; Abia-54; Borno-42; Oyo-35; Rivers-28; Edo-28; Gombe-27; Ogun-21; Plateau-18; Delta-18; Bauchi-10; Kaduna-10; Benue-9; Ondo-8; Kwara-6; Nasarawa-4; Enugu-4; Sokoto-3; Niger-3; Kebbi-3; Yobe-1 and Kano-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 15,181 with 4,891 discharged and 399 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
