Rivers State has recorded 25 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 721 with 288 discharged and 26 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria also recorded its highest single day COVID-19 infections with 745 as announced by the NCDC.
Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with- 280; Oyo-103; Ebonyi-72; FCT-60; Imo-46; Edo-34; Delta-33; Rivers-25; Kaduna-23; Ondo-16; Katsina-12; Kano-10; Bauchi-8; Borno-7; Kwara-5; Gombe-4; Sokoto-2; Enugu-2; Yobe-1; Osun-1; and Nasarawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 18,480 with 6,307 discharged and 475 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus
