Rivers State has recorded 24 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 332 with 130 discharged and 19 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday, Saturday.
The Centre also announced 389 new cases of the COVID19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 66; FCT-50; Delta-32; Oyo-31; Borno-26; Rivers-24; Edo-23; Ebonyi-23; Anambra-17; Gombe-17; Nasarawa-14; Imo-12; Kano-12; Sokoto-12; Jigawa-8; Ogun-7; Bauchi-5; Kebbi-2; Kaduna-2; Katsina-2; Ondo-2; Abia-1; and Niger-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 12233 with 3826 discharged and 342 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
