Rivers State has recorded 21 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 290 with 97 discharged and 17 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday, Thursday.
The Centre also announced 350 new cases of the COVID-19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 102, 34 in Ogun, 29 in FCT, 26 in Borno, 23 in Kaduna, 21 in Rivers, 17 in Ebonyi, 16 in Kwara, 14 in Katsina, 10 in Edo, 10 in Delta, 10 in Kano, 10 in Bauchi, 9 in Bayelsa, 8 in Imo, 4 in Plateau, 3 in Ondo, 2 in Nasarawa, 1 in Gombe and 1 in Oyo State.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 11516 with 3535 discharged and 323 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
