Rivers State has recorded 21 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 269 with 76 discharged and 16 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday, Wednesday, June 4 2020.
The Centre also announced 348 new cases of the COVID19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 163; FCT-76; Ebonyi-23; Rivers-21; Delta-8; Nasarawa-8; Niger-8; Enugu-6; Bauchi-5; Edo-5; Ekiti-5; Ondo-5; Gombe-5; Benue-4; Ogun-2; Osun-1; Plateau-1; Kogi-1; and Anambra-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 11166 with 3329 discharged and 315 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
