Rivers State has recorded 2 new cases of the COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 206 with 59 discharged and 14 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country, Sunday.
The Centre also announced 307 new cases of the COVID19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number of the new cases with 188; FCT-44; Ogun-19; Kaduna-14; Oyo-12; Bayelsa-9; Gombe-5; Kano-3; Delta-3; Imo-2; Rivers-2; Niger-2; Bauchi-2; Plateau-1; and Kwara-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 10162 with 3007 discharged and 287 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure. The commission advised Nigerians not to panic over the increased cases, as the country is on course to curb the spread of the virus.
