The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association has called for the employment of more health workers to help in the fight against the coronavirus in the state.
Chairperson of the Association, Obelebra Adebiyi made the call in a statement, Today in port Harcourt. She said there seems to be shortage of health workers in the state fighting the virus. For this, more workers are needed. She equally noted that political will is highly important and vital in the fight to defeat the pandemic.
Obelera reiterated that health workers in the state need PPE amongst other things to enable them function effectively. She had earlier announced that 22 doctors and 60 health workers had tested positive for the virus and are currently receiving treatment across the state.
