Rivers State recorded 40 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,368 with, 3086 discharged and 64 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country.
In total, Nigeria recorded 829 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (296), FCT (291), Kaduna (79), Rivers (40), Kano (35), Nasarawa (25), Bauchi (19), Benue (cool, Borno (7), Edo (7), Oyo (7), Sokoto (7), Cross River (3), Jigawa (3), and Ogun (2).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 83576 with 70,495 recovered patients, and 1,247 deaths.
The NCDC has stated that the virus, which causes COVID-19 is more likely to spread in mass gatherings especially when held indoors.
