Rivers State recorded 39 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3114 with, 2886 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 675 new cases of the virus. FCT recorded the highest number of cases with – (183), Lagos (128), Kaduna (85), Kwara (57), Katsina (50), Plateau (42), Rivers (39), Kano (33), Ondo (21), Ogun (17), Bauchi (10), Sokoto (5), Edo (2), Ekiti (1), Bayelsa (1), and Delta(1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 71,344 with 65,474 and 1,190 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure
