Rivers State recorded 26 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 8,486 with 7,643 discharged and 106 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Saturday.
In total Nigeria recorded 655 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 369, Anambra-68Oyo-63, Akwa Ibom-48, Kwara-28, Rivers-26, Edo-21, Ekiti-15, Ondo-13, Delta-7, FCT-3, Ogun-3 and Gombe-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 181,962 with 166,826 recovered patients, and 2,219 deaths.
Meanwhile, the federal government has said that despite the spike in cases, there are no plans for a nation wide lockdown.
